App User Privacy Notice

This Privacy Notice explains how Veeva Systems Inc. ("Veeva," "we," "us," or"our") handles information in connection with your use of the Veeva Contact Manager application ("Contact Manager").
Our Role
Veeva provides Contact Manager to our business customers (our "Customers") for their use. Our Customers (typically your employer) authorize your use of Contact Manager as permitted by our agreement with them. In this context, Veeva acts as a data processor, or service provider, on behalf of our Customers. This means our Customers determine what information is collected through Contact Manager and how it issued. Our processing of information is governed by our agreements with our Customers.
This Privacy Notice is intended to provide transparency to the individual users ("you") of Contact Manager about how Contact Manager processes personal information.
Information We Process
Contact Manager is designed to help our Customers and their users manage professional contacts. Contact Manager processes the following categories of information:
Contact Information: This includes names, email addresses, phone numbers, and professional details of your business contacts. This information is sourced from your work-related communications (such as emails and calendar events) as authorized by our Customer.
User Information: To create and manage your user account, we process your name and work email address.
Device and Usage Information: To ensure Contact Manager is functioning correctly and to provide support, we may collect basic technical information about your device, such as the device model and operating system version.
Contact Manager is not intended for personal use.
How We Use Information
We do not use the information collected through Contact Manager for our own purposes. We process the information collected through Contact Manager solely to provide the Contact Manager service to our Customers. We do not sell your information or share it with third parties for their own marketing purposes.
Your Privacy Rights
Because we are a data processor, you should direct requests to exercise your data privacy rights, such as the right to access, delete, or correct your personal information, to our Customer that authorized your use of Contact Manager. They are the data controller and are responsible for responding to your requests. We will assist our Customers in responding to your requests as required by our agreements with them.
You also have the option to permanently delete your account at any time, directly from Contact Manager.
Cookies and Tracking Technologies
Contact Manager uses a limited number of tracking technologies that are strictly necessary for Contact Manager to function. These include authentication tokens (such as Google OAuth) to verify your login credentials and device-specific identifiers (such as Apple'sIdentifier for Vendor) to maintain your session. These technologies are essential for security and to ensure Contact Manager works as you expect. We do not use cookies or other technologies for advertising, performance analytics, or to track your activity across other apps or websites.
Security
We are committed to protecting the information we process. We maintain a privacy and security program with technical, physical and organizational safeguards designed to protect against the wrongful access, use or disclosure of personal information, and to provide a level of security which we believe is appropriate to the risk our processing of your personal information poses to your privacy. We regularly review and modify our security measures to reflect changing technology, laws and regulations, risk, industry and security practices and other business needs. Changes to this Notice
From time-to-time, we may change our privacy notice to reflect changing technology, laws, regulations, risk, industry and security practices and other business needs. We will post the updated notice within Contact Manager and indicate the date of the latest revision.
